Pipe Organ Discovery Day 2026 (PODD)
Saturday, February 21, 2026 from 9:00am to 3:00pm
St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church, 60 N Kent St, St. Paul, MN 55102
and
Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 285 Dale St N, St. Paul, MN 55103
Pipe Organ Discovery Day provides students in grades 3 to 12, an opportunity to learn more about the pipe organ and very importantly to expand their knowledge with “hands on” experience on a variety of instruments. The event is free to participants. Family members welcome. Prior keyboard experience is needed to play the instruments; all are welcome to come and learn. A pizza lunch is provided courtesy of the Twin Cities Chapter.
Students will be able to play the Skinner/Schantz pipe organ at St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church, the Martin Ott pipe organ, and our Chapter’s demonstration Dobson/Schantz pipe organ at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. The two churches are a short drive apart.
In addition to the hands on playing opportunities, students will also participate in a short class about the pipe organ: science, sound and the organ – how it all works.
Registration is required by end of day on February 17. Detail schedules and registration information available on the TCAGO web page at www.tcago.org – click on the Events Page and then scroll down for this event. There you will also find a copy of the schedule of events for the day, along with added information and online registration for Pipe Organ Discovery Day.
